Effects of Physical exercise timing On strength and Cardiometabolic Health

Physical activity is a proven way to improve health. There are clear guidelines on the frequency, intensity, type and duration of weekly physical activity. However, with all these recommendations, one question remains unanswered: when is the best time of day to be physically active?

The EPOCH Study addresses this question by investigating the time of day when physical activity is most beneficial for improving health..

The study is being conducted by the Sports and Exercise Medicine Division of the Department of Sport, Exercise and Health at the University of Basel in collaboration with Harvard Medical School (USA), the Medical University of Graz (Austria) and the Biozentrum of the University of Basel (Switzerland).
